Facebook will end on March 15, 2011 - true or not?

An article is circulating in social networking sites and e-mail that Facebook will be ending on March 15, 2011. The "Facebook end issue" was written by J.B. Smitts on January 8, 2011 in the weeklyworldnews website saying that Mark Zuckerberg wants to shut down Facebook.com on March because he wants his simple life back.

Excerpt from the article:

Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Some Facebook users were affected by the circulating article, but it is not true -- according to local and international reports, WeeklyWorldNews actually contains satirical and exaggerated news. According to wikipedia, the Weekly World news is a supermarket tabloid which is popular for its outlandish, supernatural and paranormal approach to news.

Facebook.com is not yet releasing any statement regarding the issue.
