ABS-CBN’s singer-actress Toni Gonzaga and TV host Mariel Rodriguez are now on speaking terms after the rift that occurred between them 3 months ago, local news reports said. Toni confirmed that the communication lines between her and Mariel have been opened recently. The issue had something to do with Mariel’s cancellation of the supposed movie of her husband Robin Padilla with Toni.
In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon" (SNN), Toni said that they started communicating each other after Mariel congratulated her for the success of her movie "My Amnesia Girl" with John Lloyd Cruz. Toni revealed that she was shocked when she received an anonymous text from Mariel congratulating her for the success of the movie. She stressed that she was happy for such a surprising gesture coming from a friend who has been very close to her.
Toni admitted that she misses Mariel so much especially the times they shared as hosts of Pinoy Big Brother and Entertainment Live. She recounted the fact that they’ve worked for the longest time ever, through the highs and the lows, from being single and double.
“I guess if you really had that kind of bonding, you will miss it when it’s lost. I want to let bygones be bygones. Our heart is like a fertile soil, so if you will plant bad feelings with others, it will not grow. What I really want to plant on it are good memories and good vibes so that our heart will become a tree of happiness and positivity." Toni said.
