New Design of Philippine Money released by BSP this 2010 - Bill Pictures

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) released the new designs of the six denominations of Philippine money for 2010. The launching was led by Noynoy Aquino, President of the Philippines at the Malacanang Palace on Thursday, December 16, 2010.

The image of the former President Corazon Aquino together with his late husband,  Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino featured the new 500 peso bill. "It does make me happy, as a son and as a Filipino, to have my parents in the same bank note. It is a testament to what they sacrificed for our people, and a testament to their love for our country", Noynoy said in an interview.

Redesigned Philippine money are equipped with stronger security features to detect if it's fake or not.

As reported, the designs of the six Philippine denominations are as follows:

P20 Bill Design
In front of the 20 peso bill is Manuel L. Quezon. At the rear part are the Palm Civet from the Cordilleras and the Banaue Rice Terraces.

P50 Bill Design
In front was Sergio Osmenia while the Taal Lake and its rare Maliputo milky fish at the back.


P100 Bill Design
In front was Manuel Roxas while Mayon Volcano and the Butanding, the world's largest fish that can be found at Donsol Sorsogon were featured at the back.


P200 Bill Design
Featuring the new 200 bill design was Diosdado Macapagal while the Chocolate Hills of Bohol and the famous Tarsier were at its back.
P500 Bill Design
Corazon Aquino and Benigno Aquino Jr. were featured in the new 500 peso bill. At the rear part are Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park at Palawan and the blue-naped parrot that can be found at Mindoro and Palawan.
P1,000 Bill Design
Fronting the bill are Josefa Llanes Escoda, Vicente Lim and Jose Abad Santos while at its back are the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park and South Sea Pearl.

According to reports, part of the security measures for the new denominations are serial numbers, security fibers, threads, see-through mark, embossed prints and the like.
