DOS Prompt/Command Prompt Tips and Tricks:

In windows command prompt is also there. Here I am Explaining before you some tips and tricks of it.

1. Opening folder from Command Prompt:

Opening Current Folder:
Go to command prompt and then type Start and then . (dot) after giving a space and then press Enter key to open the current folder.

Opening Parent Folder:
If you want to open parent folder then Type Start and then type (..) at the command prompt and then press Enter key you are done.


2. Opening applications from Command Prompt:

If you want to open an application from command prompt, type Start and then type calc, it will start Calculator. Suppose you want to start Wordpad, type Start and then Wordpad. Like these you can start any application which name you know from the command prompt.


3. Copy/Paste from command prompt to Windows and Vice versa:

Copy/Paste from command prompt to Windows:

To do so go to the command prompt and then select the text you want to copy by right clicking on the text and then select Mark option from the popup menu and then select the matter, after selection it will get highlighted then press CTRL + C from the keyboard to copy it and then paste it in any windows application.

Copy/Paste from Windows to Command Prompt:
To do so select the matter and press CTRL + C to copy it from the windows and then start command prompt and then right click and choose Paste from the popup menu that appear there.
