Geographical Errors in new Philippine Peso Bills - Tubatahha, Palawan Subterranean and Batanes Errors

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recently released the new designs of six major denominations in the Philippines last thursday. The new peso bills featured the late Philippine Presidents and the most amazing tourist destinations and animals in the country. The new money are majorly accepted by the Philippine public, however, some critics found out that there are some errors in the geographical locations of famous tourist spots like Tubatahha Reefs, Batanes Islands and Palawan's Subterranean Park.

New 1000 Peso Bill Errors

Based on local reports, Tubatahha reefs are placed with over 300 kilometers distance from the actual area as reflected in Republic Act 10067 - an Act signed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo specifying the exact ordinates of the tourist spot.

Northernmost islands of Batanes are not included in the banknote, according to newmediaph blog, upper islands of Batanes are group of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines so they should have been reflected.

New 500 Peso Bill Errors

"The location in the bill makes it seem that the park is inland. They should have moved the marker nearer to the upper edge and a bit lower and closer to Puerto Princesa. In any case, we believe that this is forgivable." -- as quoted from newmediaph

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is not yet giving their official statements regarding the geographical glitches found.
