Going mad: it's cute, you know

Ready for the new ice age.
We're all gonna die, but not from global warming.

Rather than spiraling into a global warming meltdown, we may be heading into the next ice age. The U.S. National Solar Observatory, the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and astrophysicists across the planet report that the nearly all-time low sunspot activity may result in a sustained cooling period on Earth.
Many

No more reason to believe a scientist than a politician

Mike Haseler, a Scotsman, is an agnostic on global warming, has worked in the "wind industry," was once selected as a candidate by the Green Party, has studied physics and electronics, and has an MBA. He writes.
In the 20th century “science” was without doubt incredibly successful. Everything from microchips to antibiotics. As a result “science” became a reputable brand giving authority to those

The earthworms are back

My pal.
For several years I've paid one of those lawn companies to do my lawn, thinking since the bought the fertilizer and other stuff in bulk they would actually be cheaper.

I don't know. I do know that because of weed killers and other stuff my earthworms disappeared. So this year I'm doing the lawn myself. I'm pulling up a lot of weeds ... and discovering earthworms. They're everywhere.

Going mad: wait, the temperatures aren't rising?

We're going to save this planet whether it wants to be saved or not!

Two years ago, U.N. researchers were claiming that it would cost “as much as $600 billion a year over the next decade” to go green. Now, a new U.N. report has more than tripled that number to $1.9 trillion per year for 40 years. So let's do the math: That works out to a grand total of $76 trillion, over 40 years -- or more than

"Ubiquitous availability of fertility management"

That's how we'll save the planet, the Rev. Al Gore is proclaiming from his pulpit.
“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,” Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can

Going mad: we're running out of wind!

Not so fast, Sparky.
The earth will do just fine. It's sanity that's at risk.

Richard Glover: Surely it's time for climate-change deniers to have their opinions forcibly tattooed on their bodies. Not necessarily on the forehead; I'm a reasonable man. Just something along their arm or across their chest.

That's reasonable.

The World Bank will suggest a global levy on jet and shipping fuel in

I'm the only one not doomed

"Doomsday superstitions seem to fulfill a basic psychological need. On the surface, the thought that God or global warming will destroy the world within our lifetimes is horrifying. But all of us are doomed; within a matter of decades, every person alive will experience the end of his own world. A belief in the hereafter makes the thought of death less terrifying. But so does a disbelief in the

The end is near. No, really, this time.

Fire and brimstone.
Everyone is having fun with the minister who predicted that today will be the end of the world. I know I'm not going to mow the yard or pay the bills on my desk.

This minister, Harold Camping, has predicted this before. And he's laughing all the way to the bank.

So he's a lone kook, right? Look around, Sparky.

Actually, a fellow named Andrew Simms predicted in 2008 that

The end is near

How fitting that today is Good Friday and also Earth Day. For one group, it is a day of hope in the future. For another, a day of despair that the world is self-destructing.

This is not to say that there aren't environmental problems to be solved, but rather that the solving of them has become for many an act of faith, a religion. Michael Crichton, the best-selling author and graduate of the
