Now Gmail supports 5 Indian languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is very easy to type Hindi,Tamil, Telugu using Gmail. For example, To enable Hindi Language in Gmail follow the steps.
1. Login to your Gmail account.
2. Click Settings
3. Select Hindi from Gmail display Language drop down list. If you want Hindi Gmail interface.
4. Also Check the option "Enable Transliteration". It enables typing in Indic languages. Choose Hindi in Default transliteration language.
5. Click Save Changes button to apply the effect.
By the same way you can set another language.
Gmail loading screen will be displayed as shown below.
Gmail Interface will be changed in Hindi as shown below.
If you want to send a hindi message Click "पत्र लिखे"
Select the language of your choice from the menu as shown below.
When you type "mera bharat mahaan" Gmail will automatically transliterate it to "मेरा भारत महान"
To toggle between Hindi and English press Ctrl+G.
Just suppose you want to send a message to your near and dear ones and they don't know English then by using this feature of Gmail you can easily send mail in your own language. In case you also don't know, how to type in English you can send the message in Hindi as well.
